Private-equity firm Arlington Capital Partners said today it has formed Polaris Alpha by merging EOIR Technologies with Intelligent Software Solutions and PROTEUS Technologies.
The combination will create a company focused on “mission-critical technology, software, and solutions” for defense and intelligence agencies, the firm said. With over 1,100 employees, it is projected to reach sales of more than $250 million in 2017. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Arlington Capital purchased EOIR Technologies, based in Fredericksburg, VA, earlier this year. The 400-employee company focuses on cloud computing, big data analytics, advanced visualization, C4ISR, training and simulation and rapid prototyping, Arlington Capital said at the time.
Arlington Capital has significant experience with defense and aerospace contractors. Earlier this year, it sold Novetta to the Carlyle Group, another private-equity firm.
Arlington Capital had formed Novetta by merging White Oak Technologies with FGM, and then adding several more acquisitions.
Also this year, the firm purchased iRobot's defense and security business, which has been renamed Endeavor Robotics.
