Army announces three overseas deployments

The Army on April 18 announced three upcoming deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan and Europe.

The 3rd Cavalry Regiment will deploy from Ft. Hood, TX, to Iraq this spring in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. The unit, commanded by Col. Jonathan Byrom, will replace the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division.

The 101st Airborne Division Sustainment Brigade will deploy from Ft. Campbell, KY, to Afghanistan this summer in support of Operation Freedom's Sentinel. The unit, commanded by Col. Stan Sliwinski, will replace the 3rd Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade Headquarters and Special Troops Battalion. 

And the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, will deploy from Ft. Carson, CO, to Europe this summer in support of U.S. European Command's Atlantic Resolve. The unit, commanded by Col. Scott Gallaway, will replace the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade.
