Army buys new Abrams transmissions

Allison Transmission has received a $30 million award for new and upgraded Abrams tank transmissions, the Defense Department announced last week.

The cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price contract, running through Dec. 31, 2019, also covers sustainment kits and system technical services, according to DOD. The Army obligated the full amount using fiscal year 2017 and FY-18 funding at the time of award.
