The Army wants to increase the number of Joint Light Tactical Vehicles that can be airdropped from a C-17 transport aircraft, according to a recent notice.
The service is seeking information from industry on an "airdrop system or components," like the Dual Row Airdrop System, for a three-year science and technology effort called JLTV DRAS.
The maximum weight the system is expected to hold is 22,000 to 26,000 pounds, a recent Federal Business Opportunities notice states. The system must also be compatible with Air Force cargo airdrop systems.
