The Tactical High-Power Operational Responder, a microwave weapon intended for counter-unmanned aerial system operations, had a successful test last week at Kirtland Air Force Base, NM.

Air Force spokeswoman Eva Blaylock told Inside Defense in an email today that the system will undergo further testing over the next several months.

THOR is a project of the Air Force Research Lab that reflects the service’s interest in transitioning directed-energy weapons to operational use. These capabilities can provide security to air bases that are under threat from UASs.
