U.S. Army Contracting Command's Communications-Electronics Command Security Assistance Management directorate has released a sources-sought notice for potential foreign military sales work related to providing International Field Artillery Tactical Data Systems to Ukraine, Taiwan and Latvia.

“CECOM SAMD administers and manages FMS cases including requirements for Partner Nation,” the notice states. “CECOM SAMD’s goal is to satisfy customer country requirements for International Field Artillery Tactical Data System (IFATDS). . . . The purpose of this market research/sources-sought is to identify interested sources that are certified and able to provide requirements to Taiwan/Latvia/Ukraine.”

The potential requirement, according to the notice, includes IFATDS software, computer hardware for both field artillery unit fielding and classroom training, in-country IFATDS field service representative support, initial training courses and materials, instillation fielding support and post-deployment software support. Optional requirements may include forward observer systems, meteorological systems or weapon control systems.

The Defense Department, meanwhile, has been aiding Ukraine with long-range artillery since the beginning of a Russian military invasion in February. DOD is also working to support NATO countries in eastern Europe fearing further Russian attacks. Additionally, DOD is preparing to aid Taiwan in the event of a military conflict with China.
