Cubic picks up Nuvotronics

Cubic said this week it has acquired Nuvotronics, which provides microfabricated radio frequency products, for about $64 million in cash along with additional payments worth up to $8 million for future performance.

"The cornerstone of Nuvotronics' innovation platform is their patented PolyStrata technology, which was developed under [the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency] and enables the company to design and produce uniquely packaged RF devices, such as antennas, filters and combiners, all of which are components in Cubic's advanced technology product offerings," Cubic said.

The Durham, NC-based Nuvotronics counts among its customers government agencies, defense prime contractors and commercial businesses.

Cubic said the deal will "accelerate multiple innovation initiatives across Cubic's protected communications portfolio" and will generate supply chain synergies.
