The defense authorization bill released Monday night by House and Senate conferees would grant a $75 million increase to the Army's Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft.

The bill would give the Army $534 million in aviation funding for fiscal year 2020, an increase from the service's $459 million request.

Conferees are also calling on the Army to develop an aviation strategic plan and modernization roadmap. In June, the House Armed Services tactical air and land forces subcommittee asked the Army secretary to develop such a plan through FY-28.
