DynCorp International's parent company said last week sales in its most recent quarter reached nearly $451 million, down from $490 million in the same three-month period a year earlier.

The contractor reported a loss for the quarter of $25 million, less than the roughly $90 million loss it reported the prior year.

The company's DynAviation business reported quarterly sales of nearly $299 million, down from $325 million during the same period in 2015. The DynLogistics business' quarterly sales fell to $153 million, down from $166 million the prior year.

Lou Von Thaer, DynCorp's chief executive, told analysts during a Friday call that the company's international work made up about 6 percent of sales in 2014. Today, this work comprises 10 percent of DynCorp sales.

"We continue to steadily build this international business portfolio," Von Thaer said. "We have more opportunities under development in that queue."
