The president of General Dynamics Electric Boat said today he learned Friday he tested positive for coronavirus.
Kevin Graney wrote in a message to employees that he started feeling subtle symptoms Wednesday and Thursday. He said he then stayed home, though his symptoms have remained mild and he has not seen his temperature go above 100 degrees.
“I will be out of the plant until I am cleared by medical to return,” Graney added. “In line with our protocol and public heath guidance, employees who were near me and had close contact have been notified, and are monitoring their own health. My office and surrounding areas are being cleaned this weekend.”
Graney said Kurt Hesch, the unit’s chief operating officer, will lead Electric Boat while Graney is working from home.
