Former Army acquisition official Kevin Fahey has been selected to serve as assistant secretary of defense for acquisition, according to a White House announcement.

Fahey, who most recently served as vice president of combat vehicles and armaments at Cypress International, previously was the Army's executive director of systems engineering and integration.

Prior to that role, Fahey was the Army's program executive officer for combat support and combat service support.

Fahey is set to join the Trump administration as the Pentagon realigns its acquisition bureaucracy and crafts a new modernization strategy.
