Granger to chair House Appropriations defense subcommittee

Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX) will be the next chair of the House Appropriations defense subcommittee, according to an announcement from committee Chairman Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-NJ).

Rep. Hall Rogers (R-KY), who previously served as full committee chairman, had voiced interest in the job, but he will be chairing the state and foreign operations subcommittee. Rogers had to vacate the full committee chairmanship because he was term-limited.

Frelinghuysen was the previous defense subcommittee chairman.
