House appropriators introduce legislation to extend CR

The House Appropriations Committee has introduced legislation to extend the continuing resolution from Dec. 8 to Dec. 22, according to a statement from Chairman Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-NJ).

"It is absolutely vital that all 12 of the regular Appropriations bills be negotiated and signed into law," he said. "This CR will allow for additional time for a deal to be reached on top-line spending levels for this fiscal year. Once this agreement is made, my Committee will rapidly go to work with the Senate to complete the final legislation."

Democrats have not signaled whether they will support the extended CR, but they have said they will continue to demand "parity" between any increases in defense and non-defense spending.
