Some must-reads from this week's edition of Inside the Army:

1. The Army's share of the European Reassurance Initiative, a fund created within the Overseas Contingency Operations account to calm NATO allies and deter Russia, totals nearly $3.2 billion in fiscal year 2018.

2. The Army is working to bring existing equipment up to standard to convert the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division to the service's 15th armored brigade combat team, according to the chief of materiel management and installation logistics division at Army Materiel Command.

3. The Army intends to ramp up its spending on development of electronic warfare capabilities in fiscal year 2018, according to budget justification documents.

4. The Missile Defense Agency is getting ready to transition the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense program to the Army, a move that would require the service to make room in its budget annually for procurement of the guided-missile interceptors while leaving MDA in charge of continuing research and development for the weapon.
