KBR CEO: Government services integration 'going very, very well'

KBR's quarterly sales in its government services unit hit $515 million, up $305 million from the same three-month period the prior year, the company reported Friday.

That increase reflected the acquisitions of Wyle and Honeywell Technology Solutions, as well as "continued expansion of task orders on existing U.S. Government contracts including LogCAP IV and other international operating base contracts in support of the U.S. military," the company said.

Quarterly profit reached $37 million, up from $21 million the prior year.

Stuart Bradie, KBR's chief executive, said in a call with analysts Friday morning the Honeywell business won the only major recompetition it faced this year.

"So those businesses are performing to expectation," he said. "The procurement process for the government does move slowly so we've said all along that the realization of those synergies would be over the next few years."

Bradie said the integration of the businesses is "going very, very well."

"Attrition is very low," he added.
