The parent company of DynCorp International said today George Krivo will serve as the company's chief executive, effective immediately.

Krivo succeeds Lou Von Thaer, who was tapped to lead DynCorp about two years ago.

According to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, Von Thaer submitted his resignation on Monday.

"Mr. Von Thaer resigned to pursue other business interests and his resignation did not involve any disagreement with the Company or DynCorp International," the filing adds.

According to an announcement Krivo sent to DynCorp employees, Von Thaer was recruited to serve as CEO of Battelle.

Krivo, a retired Army lieutenant colonel, has worked for DynCorp for nearly a decade, most recently as chief operating officer. He previously worked at Science Applications International Corp. and DRS Technologies.
