Leonardo DRS wins contract to build Heavy-Duty Tank Trailers

The Army has awarded Leonardo DRS Land Systems a contract to build 60 Heavy-Duty Tank Trailers for hauling main battle tanks and heavy vehicles, the company announced this week.

The firm-fixed-price, undefinitized contract has an initial value of $12.2 million. The HDTT is a tactical transport trailer for armored vehicles that will "improve combat logistics," Leonardo said in a press release.

The advanced HDTT systems can carry payloads of more than 70 tons across varied terrain, "improving the ability of units to rapidly relocate their military capability," the release says.

Leonardo will build the trailers at its Land Systems facility in West Plains, MO.
