LLR Partners said today it has acquired BluVector, a technology that uses machine learning to provide cyber intelligence, from Northrop Grumman for an undisclosed sum.

Under the deal, BluVector will operate as a standalone business led by Kris Lovejoy, who was president of the business unit at Northrop. LLR said it has committed $50 million to BluVector "to support the acquisition and future growth plans."

The executive heading the Northrop subsidiary overseeing BluVector told Inside Defense in 2015 that the contractor began developing the technology nearly five years earlier. At the time, the executive said it had already been installed in government agencies and commercial enterprises.
