Lockheed selected to integrate, test Leader Follower prototypes

The Army has chosen Lockheed Martin as the integrated systems developer for Expedient Leader Follower, the company announced this week.

Lockheed will provide system verification testing and logistics support for three years under a a $9.46 million contract awarded July 12.

"Within the Expedient Leader Follower program, Lockheed Martin is the industry partner responsible for the system integration across the kits, safety case development and training for the overall system," Bernard Theisen, Army project manager for autonomous ground resupply, ground vehicle robotics, said in a statement released to Inside Defense.

The Army's Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center is the lead system integrator and owns the robotics architecture, software and standards for the overall system.

Oshkosh Defense last month received a $49 million contract for the ExLF program, to integrate scalable autonomous technology onto Palletized Load System vehicles.
