Marine Corps Systems Command will host the Infantry Equipping Challenge -- a process to identify and evaluate the best and most relevant equipment for the service -- at the end of September in Quantico, VA.

On Sept. 26, the service will hold an event at Gruntworks, which is located at Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA, that will help the Marine Corps identify solutions to requirements, according to a Sept. 21 service statement.

"IEC brings together stakeholders from across the Marine Corps requirements, acquisition, and technology development communities in a dynamic process to quickly evaluate and accelerate fielding of technologies that decrease the infantry's load, increase operational reach and reduce the reliance of the logistical train," the statement reads.

On Sept. 27-29 during Modern Day Marine, the service will hold an infantry integration with industry workshop.

"This will be a first come, first serve event conducted by [Marine Corps System Command's] Marine Expeditionary Rifle Squad Office," according to a Federal Business Opportunities notice. "This opportunity will provide an early assessment for industry that may plan to participate in future Infantry Equipping Challenge events to include the follow on Infantry Equipping Evaluation event in late November."

In late November and early December 2016, the Marine Corps will host a one-week event consisting of operational evaluations and engineering assessments, according to the notice.
