MITRE establishes MITRE Labs

MITRE said today it has created MITRE Labs, which will restructure the company's research and development capabilities and workforce.

Charles Clancy has been tapped to head the organization and will be responsible for "sparking innovative disruption, accelerating risk-taking and discovery, and delivering real-time, technology capabilities and execution through labs, platforms, and the MITRE Fellows program," the company said.

Clancy, who came to MITRE last year, was previously vice president for intelligence programs.

MITRE said John Wilson, who has been with company since 1983, has been named chief information and security officer. He had been serving in the role in an interim capacity since November. Christina Orfanos, who came to MITRE in 2018, has been named vice president for talent experience and total rewards.
