Naval Sea Systems Command is disestablishing one of its directorates, called SEA 06, and redistributing those staffs, including two program offices, across other parts of the command, according to an internal service newsletter viewed by Inside Defense.

"NAVSEA Commander Vice Adm. William Galinis and Executive Director James Smerchansky directed the disestablishment Aug. 11, and SEA 06's 130 civilian and 18 active-duty military personnel will begin work" at various other agencies in October, according to the newsletter.

Personnel for two program offices, naval special warfare (PMS 340) and expeditionary missions (PMS 408), will be moved to the program executive office for unmanned and small combatants.

Personnel will also be transferred into several NAVSEA directorates including cyber engineering and digital transformation, naval systems engineering and corporate operations, the newsletter states.
