The Navy plans to convene industry in early December to discuss the medium unmanned underwater vehicle.

According to a notice posted on Federal Business Opportunities, the service will host industry Dec. 2 and 3 in the Washington, DC region "to improve industry's understanding of the MUUV prototyping requirement and anticipated contracting approach."

Inside Defense recently reported the Navy plans to issue a draft request for proposals for a "common" MUUV by the end of this calendar year.

Howard Berkof, the deputy program manager for unmanned maritime systems, said last month the Navy is working to combine the Razorback unmanned undersea vehicle and the Mark 18 Mod 2 UUV, known as Kingfish, for the MUUV.
