The Navy is looking to an industry consortium to find solutions for defending against small Unmanned Arial System threats.

The service wants to build advanced electronic warfare countermeasures to fight against sUAS threats, according to a contract opportunity notice released on Thursday.

Companies responding to the notice must be members of the Strategic & Spectrum Missions Advanced Resilient Trusted Systems (S2MARTS) consortium, according to the notice.

"The Government requires the development of enhancements in detection, identification, tracking, and mitigation in the defeat of other sUAS's," the notice states. "The selected party will evaluate sUAS technology that has been identified by the Government and provide the development of Prototype Waveforms, Algorithms, and/or Source Code along with providing reports/white pages for all of the cited technologies."

According to the notice, the Defense Department "has determined that the need for additional developers is necessary to keep pace with the advancements of sUAS technology."
