President Obama has announced nominees to lead the Pentagon's cost assessment and program evaluation office, serve in the Navy's No. 2 senior post and head up the department's special operations shop.

He has held his current post since 2009 and served as acting under secretary of the Air Force from 2012 to 2013. Prior to that he worked as the senior defense analyst for the Senate Budget Committee.

From 2011 to 2012, he served as principal deputy assistant secretary of defense in DOD’s special operations shop.
