Science Applications International Corp. said today it has consolidated its business units and offered a voluntary retirement incentive package to about 100 senior managers as “part of a broad, companywide restructuring.”

The contractor said it consolidated its five customer-facing groups into three and its six capabilities-focused service lines into three market segments.

Also as part of its strategy, SAIC earlier this year promoted Nazzic Keene to chief operating officer, moved its headquarters from McLean, VA, to Reston, VA, and established an information technology services center in Tennessee.

“All of these actions collectively support the company’s strategy, called Ingenuity 2025, while also addressing near-term challenges SAIC faced in the first half of its fiscal year,” the company said.

Last month, SAIC reported sales in the last six months were down about 6 percent from the prior year. Profit for the six-month period was down about 21 percent from a year earlier.
