Air Force Space Command is kicking off the 2017 Schriever Wargame today, focusing on multi-domain command and control, space resiliency and evolving joint and allied partnerships.

The exercise, set to take place at Nellis Air Force Base, NV, "will explore critical space issues and investigate integration activities of multiple agencies associated with space systems and services," according to an Oct. 12 press release.

The wargame, set in the year 2027, will depict a "notional peer" space and cyber adversary and will include a scenario focused in the U.S. Pacific Command area of responsibility. This year's objectives, according to the release, are to examine combined command-and-control frameworks; better understand space resiliency, deterrence and warfighting; explore the "warfighting contribution" of space and cyber in a conflict that spans multiple domains; and evolve allied, civil and government partnerships.

This year's exercise will include experts from more than 27 U.S. commands and agencies as well as from Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Canada.
