Senate confirms Rumbaugh as Navy comptroller

The Senate voted 80-10 today to confirm Russell Rumbaugh to be Navy comptroller.

Prior to his nomination, Rumbaugh, who was tapped in March but stalled amid ongoing GOP resistance to confirming key Biden administration appointees, worked at non-profit Aerospace Corp.’s Center for Space Policy and Strategy.

Previously, Rumbaugh served in the Pentagon’s cost assessment and program evaluation office as the defense and international analyst on the Senate Budget Committee, and on personal staff in the House of Representatives.

Additionally, Rumbaugh was director of budgeting for foreign affairs and defense at the Stimson Center and worked as an analyst at the Congressional Research Service.
