Serco said today it will acquire BTP Systems to support its strategic growth plan in defense.
BTP provides satellite communications, radar modernization, operations and maintenance and sustainment services, Serco said.
"BTP specializes in areas including obsolescence engineering, systems engineering services, test equipment and design, and field engineering services, and maintains a near-field and compact antenna test range at [its] Ludlow, MA, headquarters," the company added. BTP's "expertise spans shipboard and submarine SATCOM antenna systems, MILSTAR command post antennas, and radar antennas."
The deal is expected to close at the end of the year.
Serco said buying BTP would bolster its "portfolio of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) service offerings" and broaden its group of federal customers.
