The Trump administration said this week the president intends to nominate Phyllis Bayer to serve as assistant secretary of the Navy for installations, energy and the environment.

Bayer previously served as chief of staff in the office of the assistant secretary of defense for readiness, as executive director of the Defense Business Board and as senior policy analyst for OSD's test and evaluation office, according to the White House announcement.

Bayer is married to Michael Bayer, a former chairman of the Defense Business Board.
