The State Department has cleared new arms sales to Poland, with one potential deal for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems worth $250 million and another for Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles also estimated to cost as much as $250 million.

Poland wants to buy 16 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) M31A1 Unitary bombs, nine GMLRS M30A1 alternative warheads and 61 Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) M57 Unitary variants, according to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency's Nov. 28 statement about the approved sale. Lockheed makes the munitions in question.

On the same day, DSCA announced the State Department had approved the possible sale of up to 150  AIM-120C-7 AMRAAMs to Poland. The missiles would be used by Polish F-16 fighter jets, and Poland has already bought the AIM-120C-7 variant in the past, according to the announcement. Raytheon manufactures AMRAAM.

The new approvals come less than two weeks after the State Department cleared a sale of the Patriot air and missile defense systems to Poland worth upwards of $10.5 billion.
