White House taps David Ehrhart for USAF general counsel

The White House announced June 9 it intends to nominate David Ehrhart, former associate general counsel at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, to serve as Air Force general counsel.

An Air Force Academy graduate, Ehrhart was in the service for 33 years, holding various legal posts during his career. In his role at Lockheed, he was the lead attorney for the F-35, according to the release.

Additionally, the White House said it has selected Lucian Niemeyer to serve as assistant secretary of defense for energy, installations and environment. He previously was a professional staff member on the Senate Armed Services Committee.
