2012 Defense Strategic Guidance

On Jan. 5, 2012, the Obama administration released its strategic defense guidance. Also includes a briefing featuring President Obama, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey as well as a separate briefing featuring Deputy Defense Secretary Ashton Carter, Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. James Winnefeld and Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Michèle Flournoy.
