Army awards multimillion-dollar contract to L-3 for spy plane program

The Army last week awarded L-3 Communications a $129.6 million contract to modify fixed-wing aircraft that will be used as spy planes, according to a Defense Department notice. L-3 will modify 13 "quick reaction capability aircraft" for the Enhanced Medium Altitude Reconnaissance and Surveillance System program, the Nov. 23 notice states.
