Path ahead unclear for Trump's FY-17 budget proposal

Congressional leaders will be challenged in the coming weeks to address President Trump's budget plans for fiscal year 2017, specifically a budgetary amendment that would increase defense spending by an additional $30 billion, but would break spending caps lawmakers have already agreed upon. Jennifer Hing, a spokeswoman for the House Appropriations Committee, said there is no clear legislative path for the package, but noted the president's proposal would become part of lawmakers' discussions for passing the remaining FY-17 appropriations bills...
