L3 Technologies said today it has acquired Open Water Power, which is developing undersea power generation technologies.

The company, which did not disclose the terms, said it completed the deal last week. The acquisition will be incorporated into L3's sensor systems unit and be renamed L3 Open Water Power.

Last month, L3 announced it had acquired OceanServer Technology, which develops and manufactures unmanned undersea vehicles. That business too was integrated into the sensor systems unit.

Michael Strianese, L3's chief executive, said in a statement today that the two acquisitions will enable L3 "to meet the increasing demand for smaller, more cost-efficient UUVs with the ability to conduct longer missions at greater depths."
