White House disagrees with House's LTAMDS provision

The White House is objecting to a provision in the House-passed fiscal year 2018 defense authorization bill, outlining an acquisition strategy for the Army's 360-degree lower-tier air and missile defense sensor. The legislation requires the Army to develop a plan for the sensor to reach initial operational capability by Jan. 1, 2022 and complete fielding to all units by Jan. 1, 2026.
