Saft zeroes in on military vehicles programs

Battery maker Saft is focusing on lithium-ion batteries for military vehicles, pitching them for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle and the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle. In an interview with Inside Defense earlier this month, Annie Sennet, executive vice president of Saft's space and defense division, said the company sees vehicles as the largest opportunity for the defense group. Already, she said, the company's lithium-ion batteries are slated to go on the Piranha vehicle in Europe and the Hawkei vehicle in Australia...
