Navy secretary: Service will request $600M to pay for Fitz, McCain repairs

The Navy will seek an additional $600 million in operations and maintenance funding from Congress to pay repair bills for both the Fitzgerald (DDG-62) and the John S. McCain (DDG-56), according to Navy Secretary Richard Spencer. Both ships were damaged this summer during collisions with commercial ships.
