Northrop Grumman announced today that two of its senior executives would retire at the end of this year.

Chief Operating Officer Gloria Flach and corporate Vice President for Government Relations Sid Ashworth have announced their decisions to retire from the company, effective Dec. 31, according to a company statement.

Consequently, Northrop's board of directors has elected Kathy Warden president and COO, effective Jan. 1, 2018. Warden is a corporate vice president and head of the company's mission systems unit. In her new role, she will oversee Northrop's three operating sectors "as well as the integration of the Orbital ATK business upon closing of that transaction," according to the statement.

Lesley Kalan, who currently "leads the corporate Legislative Affairs organization," will replace Ashworth as corporate vice president for government relations, the company said.

Additionally, the board elected Mark Caylor as corporate VP and president for mission systems and Shawn Purvis as corporate VP and president of enterprise services. All of them will assume their new roles on Jan. 1, 2018, according to the statement.
