ManTech names Phillips next CEO

ManTech International said today Kevin Phillips, the company's president, will become its next chief executive, beginning Jan. 1.

Phillips will succeed George Pedersen, who will become executive chairman of ManTech, the contractor said.

"In his new role as Executive Chairman, Mr. Pedersen will continue to guide the company's overall strategy and direction, oversee the company's [mergers and acquisitions] program, and facilitate other significant corporate activity," ManTech said.

Last year, ManTech promoted Phillips to president and chief operating officer. He had served as chief financial officer since 2005.
