The Pentagon is preparing to release a National Defense Strategy next month that the deputy defense secretary says directly informs the fiscal year 2019 budget, set to be released in early February. However, Pat Shanahan said Thursday the program objective memorandum for FY-20, which will soon be underway, will be the "masterpiece." That POM runs from FY-20 through FY-24.
