M-SHORAD efforts progressing, but funding challenges persist

The Army's effort to provide an interim short-range air defense capability to Europe is proceeding as planned, according to service officials. Lt. Gen. James Dickinson said at a Feb. 28 conference hosted by the Association of the United States Army the service is "ahead of schedule to deliver two Avenger battalion equipment sets to Europe this year in support of the European Deterrence Initiative."
