Science Applications International Corp. today announced John Walsh has been recruited to be the company's new Information Technology Solutions Market Segment senior vice president and general manager.

Walsh succeeds Dan Harris, who is retiring after nearly 40 years with SAIC.

Walsh will be responsible for the company's growth strategy focusing on software, end-user services, cyber, and digital infrastructure, reporting directly to Chief Operating Officer Nazzic Keene, according to an SAIC statement.

Before SAIC, Walsh was CSRA's vice president of homeland security programs. Prior to that, he was an executive vice president of corporate development for Newberry Group for a year. Walsh spent roughly 16 years with Computer Sciences Corp., which in 2015 merged with SRA to form CSRA.

Walsh has a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Los Angeles, a master's degree from San Diego State University, an MBA from Pepperdine University, and an executive leadership certificate from Cornell University.
