Army adopts new 'Multi-Domain Operations' designation

The Army is now referring to its future conflict concept as "Multi-Domain Operations" -- ditching the term "Multi-Domain Battle" -- a shift that began a few weeks ago, according to Gen. Stephen Townsend, chief of Training and Doctrine Command. The concept addresses the Army's ability to fight in an increasingly complex operational environment, most likely in megacities, which have a population of 10 million or more.
