ManTech International said today it is formally opening a new logistics center to support the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle program.

“Two buildings comprise ManTech’s new North Charleston Logistics Center for a combined 310,000-square-foot facility that houses ManTech’s central hub for supplying parts and support to 120-plus maintenance facilities worldwide for the military’s Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) and other Route Clearance Vehicle countermine/counter IED systems,” the company said. “North Charleston is also home to ManTech’s integration facility supporting Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) vehicle and C4I operations.”

The new center employs about 50 personnel, including logistics analysts, heavy equipment mechanics and mechanical technicians. ManTech now has about 130 employees in the Charleston area and said it expects to add personnel over time.

The company said it won an $847 million task order last year for the Vehicle Engineering Maintenance and Operations Support program. Under the five-year deal, the contractor said it will provide operational engineering and logistics support for about 25,000 vehicles.
