Computational storage system developer Agylstor said this week it has received an investment from Boeing's innovation cell.

Boeing HorizonX ventures has provided funding to support Agylstor's "development of ruggedized computational storage systems specifically designed for some of the world’s harshest environments," the company, based in San Jose, CA, and founded in 2016, said.

"The company's technology provides secure data storage and transfer for video and film production, geoscience, infrastructure mapping, and aerospace applications, including more capable piloted and autonomous systems," Agylstor added.

Boeing HorizonX led the series A round, which Agylstor said also included private investors.

Boeing's innovation cell has made a number of investments this year, including in Cuberg, Myriota and Reaction Engines.
