Senate panel wants report on future of armored brigade combat teams

Senate lawmakers are asking how the Army plans to equip and field future armored brigade combat teams in order to fit the requirements in the National Defense Strategy. The Senate Armed Services Committee's mark of the fiscal year 2019 defense policy bill requires a report on the capabilities of the Army's ABCTs and how many the service needs to support the NDS, as well as "how the Army will address the need for additional mechanized infantry companies."
