Aerojet Rocketdyne said today it has named Jim Maser senior vice president of its space business unit.

"In this role, Maser will oversee all NASA programs, defense and commercial launch systems, advanced space and launch strategy programs, and in-space propulsion system programs supported by sites throughout the country," Aerojet said, noting he will be based at the company's Canoga Park, CA, facility.

Maser previously was president of James G. Advisors, a strategy, leadership and technical execution consulting firm. From 2006 to 2017, he held multiple roles at Pratt & Whitney, including vice president of the F135 engine program and president of Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne, the company said.

He also has been an executive at Sea Launch and SpaceX.
