NDAA authorizes multiyear deals for Hawkeyes, Super Hornets

When President Trump signed the 2019 defense policy bill on Aug. 13, he authorized multiyear buys of two major aircraft programs for the Navy. The Fiscal Year 2019 National Defense Authorization Act contains language that approves the multiyear procurement of the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye and the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet. The legislation approves a five-year contract starting in FY-19 for 24 E-2D aircraft and authorizes a three-year contract beginning in 2019 for the F/A-18E/F that would produce 72 aircraft.
